I'll admit that this isn't the best shot I'll ever take, but for a hastily-thrown-together picture taken in my back garden (with a LOT of light pollution) I don't think it's too bad. Focusing is a bit of an issue and this is just out but it's a good place to start.
If you look to the right of centre, you can see The Plough running top to bottom
