18th February 2013
This is a spare button from some jumper or other I own. Not particularly exciting but it's pretty rare I see a button with some motto on it. It appealed to me a bit for some reason. So here you go - "Cut from a different cloth"

Gandalf Arrives
17th February 2013
Back to Lego again (it's so easy to do given how much fun it is to shoot) and another Tolkien inspired picture. Tried to recreate the scene from The Hobbit where Gandalf knocks on Bilbo's door...

IKEA
16th February 2013
I spent Saturday at IKEA. There's little else to say to be honest - I'm sure a lot of you have had that particular "pleasure" before. The only thing that struck me was how recognisable a piece of IKEA furniture is just from the product label...

Back to Lego today and a recreated scene of sorts from the Lego Death Star. Here, Luke meets the Emperor.

Chocolates
14th February 2013
It is, of course, Valentine's Day today so little inspiration needed for today's picture. I decided to snap a picture of the chocolates I bought my wife.
There's also a few other Valentine's day shots (including cake, flowers and Lego) which you can see in this Flickr set if you're interested.

Paradise
13th February 2013
I recently saw that this t-shirt was being auctioned on ebay and I was lucky enough to win it. Slow Club are a band from Sheffield that I love and Paradise is the name of their second album released in 2011. If you've not listened before, I suggest you give them a whirl!

Pancakes
12th February 2013
Perhaps the least surprising photo in this project so far. Pancake Day is one of my favourite days of the year and today didn't disappoint. Blueberry pancakes with strawberries and a drizzle of chocolate sauce!

APS
11th February 2013
I spent yesterday going through some old photos I'd taken about 10-15 years ago back when I was still on a film camera. I had one of the "revolutionary" APS cameras at the time and getting a huge box with this logo on the front was always an exciting time

Rainbow Cupcakes
10th February 2013
Whilst the apocalyptic snow that was forecast never actually materialised, we'd decided it wasn't worth venturing out today. My daughter and I tried our hand at some ambitious rainbow cupcakes. They weren't bad for a first attempt, but I think we've learned we don't need to be so stingy with the food colouring next time

York Minster
9th February 2013
I was back in York today accompanying my daughter to a birthday party. It's the first time I've been back in about 18 months (having lived there for over 10 years previously). I still can't help but be amazed by the Minster every time I go into town. I loved the sun shining on the Rose Window this afternoon.

Scones
8th February 2013
I had my family over in the afternoon so indulged in a bit of baking for some afternoon tea. Scones are my Achilles heel!

Pampas Grass
7th February 2013
Managed to get out of the house while it was daylight today and took this picture of this pampas grass. I always think it's very photogenic and don't think it's disappointed here

Washing Up
6th February 2013
Sadly every night can't be macro shots of flowers or close ups of Lego minifigs. Today's picture is one of the more regular parts of life - the washing up.

Short on time so another Lego picture today. This Gandalf set was my first LOTR set and is one of my favourites.

I've not quite plucked up the courage to take my DSLR to Hillsborough yet (and I'm not sure if I'm allowed anyway) but I did snap this picture of today's matchday programme when I got home this evening.

CDs
1st February 2013
I often forget that some of the simplest photos come from taking pictures of the most everyday objects. One of the blocks on my CD rack is full of Beatles albums and I snapped this picture this afternoon.
